Pink Nike sneakers are nothing new, with several releases coinciding with Barbie’s launch back in July. However, this newly revealed style takes a different approach by drawing inspiration from Nike’s heritage color-blocking. While it’s not a replica of the original “University Red” and “Sport Royal” looks, the upcoming kids’ Air Max 1 starts with a “White” mesh base, serving as a canvas for contrasting colors on the upper and sole unit.
Nubuck panels in a soft pink shade cover the vamp to the spine, and this is complemented by more vibrant hues of the same color on the profile swooshes and mudguards. The plastic upper eyelets and “Nike” branding on the tongue label follow this color scheme.

Underneath, the color scheme remains consistent. The majority of the midsole features a “colorless” finish, allowing the rosy tint of the visible Air unit to take center stage. The waffle-patterned traction on the sole incorporates the hot pink accent from the upper, keeping the design fresh and appealing nearly four decades after the shoe’s initial release.

As you eagerly anticipate the Spring 2024 release, you can enjoy official photos of this kids’ Air Max 1. It will be available for $100. Should adult sizes become available, they will be priced at $140. Keep an eye out for the launch on nike.com.
