There is a new Air Max 90 sneaker! This sneaker secured its iconic status long ago, but even 33 years after its introduction, it’s still flexing its creative muscles.
New Air Max 90 Gum Sole:

As Nike explores new ways to express the essence of this classic silhouette, Tinker Hatfield’s masterpiece has reemerged in a fresh color scheme that harmonizes heritage and contemporary style. The predominant shades of “White/Cool Grey/Black” on the upper pay homage to the sneaker’s original “Infrared” (technically “Radiant Red”) appearance from 1990.

However, a golden yellow hue takes over for the profile swooshes, TPU eyelets near the tongue’s top, and various other branded details across the upper. This touch of springtime vibrancy also infuses the Air Max bubble underfoot, providing a lively contrast to the otherwise grayscale midsole. Furthermore, the waffle-patterned outsoles, rooted in Nike Running history, conclude with a refined “Light Gum Brown” finish.

While gum soles are nothing new for this sneaker or other Nike products, they’ve historically been associated with summertime due to their performance advantages. Over the past two decades, we’ve seen numerous Nike SB releases incorporating this tacky finish. Recently, several Nike Sportswear styles have also adopted the brown outsoles, providing enthusiasts of this look with various choices.

Stay tuned for official release details on Nike’s website as you anticipate the arrival of this upcoming Air Max, priced at $130 USD.
