So, you’ve got a collection of Funko Pops that you’d like to show off, but you’re worried about cluttering the floor. Would hanging them on the walls be a good idea?
How to Display Your Funko Pops on a Wall
Floating Bookshelves
A great way to show off your Funko Pops on the wall is with floating bookshelves. Clear acrylic shelves that you can mount seem to be very popular. Even though these aren’t made for Funko Pops, many people use them to show off their Pops, which work well. Floating bookcases can be used for both opened and unopened Funko Pops. Again, give importance to the sizes so you can get something that fits your needs.
Single Floating Stands
This may be the right choice if you like to keep things simple and only want one stand for each Funko Pop. If you only have single floating shelves or stands, you will probably only be able to put one Funko Pop on each shelf. If you don’t have a lot of wall space or don’t want your Funkos to take up too much room, this might be for you.
Mountable Display Cases/Organizers
If you want to put your Funko Pops on your walls, it will be clear that you can use a mountable display case. The main difference between a display case and regular shelves is that a display case is more of a box. As a result, cases will occupy more wall space and be much more visible than some of your other choices, but if you like how they look, that’s all that matters.
Funko Pop Box Wall Mounts
Didn’t you like that the floating shelves were simple enough for you? You can go even more minimal with these small wall mounts, which are ideal for putting your boxed Funko Pops on the walls in a way that makes them look like they’re floating.
Baseball Display Case
A baseball case could be a good choice if you want something unique. Baseball cases are nice because they can keep dust off your Funko Pops much better than shelves. Also, if you can lock your cabinet, it will keep your young relatives from playing with your Funkos. Plus, the display cases look good.
How to Display Mounts?
So, depending on the option you selected, how you mount your Funko Pop display(s) will largely depend on it. You’ll probably use adhesives or wall anchors to hang your displays based on the options I’ve provided.
Adhesives pretty much explain themselves. The main problem with applying adhesives to your walls is the possibility that the paint will peel off when the adhesive is removed.
You should be okay using the adhesive if the possibility of paint peeling is not a concern for you.
Consider something that uses wall anchors if the paint is a concern and you are worried about the paint peeling off the walls.
When you can’t drill into the studs, anchors (or plugs) are used to hang light to moderately heavy objects on your walls.
Wall anchors ought to function well and be more than capable of supporting the shelves for most of the items I’ve suggested in this post.
You will likely need to drill into the studs to hang a heavy display case. I’m not an expert in this field, so if you don’t know what you’re doing, I advise contacting The Home Depot or a nearby home improvement business.
Adhesives might be used to mount lightweight shelves that can only hold one Funko Pop.
There are some circumstances in which you shouldn’t use adhesives on your walls because it’s possible that they won’t come off the walls easily without removing paint.
Where Should You Display Them?
Let’s start by talking about inappropriate places to display them. Most of the time, you shouldn’t put your Funko Pops on display in the garage or attic because you can’t control the humidity and temperature there.
In addition, if you keep them on display in the garage, dust and other kinds of residue will quickly accumulate on them.
Most of the rooms in your house—the office, bedroom, den, man cave, dining room, etc.—will be suitable for displaying your Pops. You must make sure that environmental factors can be controlled.
Direct sunlight should be avoided, and the temperature should be kept moderate and not fluctuate too much. You should be fine if you can shield your collection from direct sunlight and control the temperature and humidity.
Tips
You want to avoid some risks when displaying your Funko Pops; some are merely annoyances, while others could harm your Funk Pops. Here are some of the risks:
- Dust and Dirt
- Dirt and dust are not particularly problematic. Naturally, you don’t want your Pops to become dirty, but that can be fixed if they are merely dirty.
- Sunlight
- An excessive amount of sun exposure might cause discoloration.
- Humidity and Temperature
- For boxed Funko Pops, humidity is a bigger issue than the Pops. The boxes may become wet and warp if too much humidity is in the air. Therefore, it’s best to maintain a moderate level of humidity. The general rule is that your Funko Pops will be at ease if it is comfortable for you.
- Temperature is subject to the same rule. At all costs, stay away from the extremes! Your Funko Pops will melt in very hot weather! Instead, display them in an area with moderate temperatures; most people, including your Pops, prefer temperatures between 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit (15-23 degrees Celsius).
