Which Irish Coins are Valuable?

1937 Florin (2 Shilling)

The Irish Florin coin was a member of the Irish Free State 1928-1937 coin series of Ireland. Percy Metcalfe designed this.

These coins were produced at the Royal Mint’s Tower Hill Site in London between 1928 and 1937.

A total of 3,551,001 coins were minted. The 1937 Florin can be valued up to $875.00.

1937 Half Crown

The Irish Half Crown coin was among the coins of the Irish Free State 1928-1937 coin series of Ireland.

Percy Metcalfe designed this. These coins were produced at the Royal Mint, Tower Hill Site in London, between 1928 and 1937.

Three million five hundred thirty-four thousand and one of these coins were minted.

The Half Crown from 1937 can be worth as much as $2,000.00!

1985 Half Penny

It was released as a part of the Irish Decimal Coins 1969–2001 series.

Produced at the Currency Centre Dublin mint in Ireland after a design by Gabriel Hayes.

There were a total of 169,895,000 minted. The face value of a 1985 Half Penny is $2,000.00!

1937 Shilling

Ireland issued Shilling coins between 1928 and 1937 as part of the Irish Free State coin series. Metcalfe, Percy, the designer.

Made at the Royal Mint’s Tower Hill Site in London between 1928 and 1937.

There were a total of 4,366,001 of these coins produced.

The 1937 Shilling can be worth as much as $2,300.00 today!

1943 Half Crown

The Irish Half Crown coin was issued before the introduction of the Euro in 2002.

Metcalfe, Percy, the designer. Coins were struck at the Royal Mint’s Tower Hill Site in London between 1939 and 1943.

There were a total of 3,534,001 of these coins produced. Only about 500 of these coins are thought to have been struck.

The maximum price tag for a 1943 Half Crown is $4,600.00!

1985 20 Pence

The 20-pence coin was a part of the Irish Decimal Coins series.

This 20 Pence 1985 coin was produced in 1985 solely to aid vending machine operators and other coin-operated systems in calibrating their machines.

Let me tell you about these 1985 20p coins.

They were meant to be returned to the Dublin Mint for calibration, but they were not.

As a result, these coins have become extremely rare and valuable.

I’m unsure how many of these 20 Pence 1985 coins were produced. The 1985 20 Pence can be worth up to $8,000!

1943 Florin (2 Shilling)

The Irish Florin was a pre-decimal currency issued by the Irish government.

Metcalfe, Percy, the designer. Coins were struck at the Royal Mint’s Tower Hill Site in London between 1939 and 1943.

There were a total of 2,259,000 of these coins struck. Only about 35 of these coins are thought to have survived.

The 1943 Florin can be worth as much as $9,200 today!
